
Flash Update 09/04/2026
Dear Customers,
Following is an update received tonight – Thursday, April 9, 2026 – stating that the guidelines for the land transport of hazardous materials remain in effect and have not been canceled, contrary to the Home Front Command’s announcement earlier today.
Following the ceasefire, please find below an updated daily status regarding the supply chain operations in Israel.
- Ben Gurion Airport returned to normal operations as of yesterday at midnight
- At this stage, flights to and from Israel are operated by Israeli carriers only; therefore, cargo capacity is limited and prices are hig
- Several international airlines are awaiting approvals to resume service to Israel. The European agency extended the ban to Israel at least until April 24
Latest Updates
- Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) – Fully operational
- Land border crossings – Returned to normal operations
- Israeli seaports – Fully operational; all restrictions on the movement of hazardous materials imposed during the fighting have been lifted
- EL AL – Expected to resume regular scheduled flights starting Sunday, 12 April 2026
- Arkia is extending their activities in Israel
Air Freight – Import & Export by Region
General
- International airlines have imposed war surcharges and increased fuel rates.
United States
- EL AL – Operating rescue flights for cargo to/from Israel: New York, Miami, Los Angeles. Regular scheduled flights will replace the rescue flights over time.
- CAL – Daily freighter flights from JFK; weekly flights from Houston and Atlanta via LGG. Experiencing heavy congestion due to cancellations by foreign carriers.
- Arkia – Operating flights on the New York route.
Europe
- CAL – Daily freighter flights TLV–Liège–TLV.
- EL AL – Operating flights to/from TLV:
– Liège
– Frankfurt
– Milan and Athens
– London – Cargo currently uplifted on rescue flights. Regular scheduled flights will replace rescue flights later on.
- Arkia is operating narrow body aircrafts into Europe.
Far East
- CAL
– Operating flights from several countries via Hong Kong for import but facing heavy emand for flights to Israel.
– Operating three weekly flights from Mumbai, India, with high expected congestion.
- EL AL Uplifting cargo on rescue flights to/from Bangkok and Phuket. Regular scheduled flights will later replace rescue flights.
- Arkia – Operating flights to Bangkok (cargo height limit: 1.60 m) and onward to Far East and Australia destinations; hazardous materials not accepted.
– Will operate wide-body aircraft from TLV to DEL on 22.04 / 24.04 / 28.04 / 06.05
– Operating flights to Hanoi.
International Connectivity
- Air Canada – Operating cargo flights to Athens (height limit: 1.60 m), with onward connections to Canada, USA, South America, and Australia.
- Silkway + United – Cargo flights to HHN on Tue/Sat with direct connections to the global network.
- United Airlines – Passenger flights accepting cargo up to 1.60 m across their entire network + connections via Athens (with EL AL).
- American Airlines – Connections from London via EL AL to destinations in the USA, Canada, and South America.
Land Border Crossings – Operating normally between 08:00–17:00.
Israel Custom – Operating normally.
Seaports – Seaports are fully operational.
- Shipping lines have imposed war-related surcharges for both import and export (link to surcharges attached).
Trucking
- Israel – Trucking companies have started applying a 15% fuel surcharge on domestic transportation due to changes in fuel prices. This surcharge applies to transports performed from 01.04
- Europe & USA – Fuel surcharges increased by 18%.
