DSV Israel launched its Sustainability strategy

 

Yesterday (19/09/2022) DSV Israel launched its Sustainability strategy, the event took place at the Weizman Institute in Rehovot, Israel.

200+ DSV clients, vendors and colleagues participated in the event.  Sigal Mannheim-Katzovich DSV Israel Managing director described DSV involvement in green logistics.

Ofir Bronhaim DSV’s innovation and Sustainability manager, spoke about the tools DSV has in its arsenal for our clients, we have developed an array of tools to support reduction of carbon emissions along the supply chain. Tools we use for our own operations and also to those we provide services to.

Amir Bahlul, director of advanced innovation at Augury, presented together with Ofir, the predictive maintenance management product.

 

The event showcased a fascinating panel in which four of DSV clients participated in. The discussion was around the trends of sustainability in the supply chain.

From SolarEdge Technologies Ltd, Director of Logistics, Michal Ami, from Bazan, Shlomi Basson, deputy CEO, from Gencell Shmulik Perez COO, from ICL, Shimon Perry Director of Inland transportation and contracts, of sustainability, procurement & supply chain.

 

From PLANETech – Climate Change Technologies,  the innovation community for climate change, in collaboration with the Israel Innovation institute, Uriel Keller, CEO, gave a high level overview of the current sustainability trends in Israel and around the world.

 

Thereafter, on the stage we invited inspiring lectures from a group of entrepreneurs who deal with sustainability, the audience heard fascinating and excellent inspirational lectures.

Limor Gil-Shani, Senior director sales and marketing at DSV Israel took the stage and said, “as one of the largest transportation companies in Israel & globally, we understand that we have a responsibility to take care of our clients and of course the climate issues in the world, Sustainability is not a new phrase, today, we will explain how DSV integrates DSV Global sustainability strategy in our operations locally”.

 

Ofir Bronhaim DSV’s innovation and Sustainability manager said, DSV goals until 2030 are divided into two, direct sustainability in which we DSV look internally to transform as much as our assets as possible, such as, our fleet of vehicles & trucks, for more environmentally friendly with reduced carbon emissions. In addition, we look at our facilities, we find greener solutions for electricity and heat. The second pilar speaks to indirect sustainability, where we speak to our large vendors, like airlines, shipping lines, truckers & partners, DSV wants to work with those that encourage sustainability.  

DSV is committed to a 40% carbon emission reduction by 2030 for direct sustainability and 30% reduction for indirect sustainability.

 

Sigal Mannheim-Katzovich DSV Israel Managing director, said, “we are a peoples business and it is exciting to see that you have dedicated your time to join us today. I am proud to launch our sustainability strategy here today at the Weizman Institute which we enjoyed the green trees and grass during our morning. Reducing the carbon footprint is not a slogan but an existing reality and we need to translate this into actions. I see here with us today clients that are part of a global organization that have implemented these strategies long ago, we want to be your partners, we also want to help other clients that are not yet there. The CEO of DSV Globally leads the sustainability strategy, he is personally involved in this program, Sigal continued to say “as a leading global transportation company we feel that we have a responsibility in the area of sustainability”.

Sigal Mannheim-Katzovich mentioned in her speech that DSV promotes innovation and that DSV set a target to become the first 100% digitized freight forwarder, we invest huge resources in doing so

In addition we are preparing for Israeli customs global gate imitative on the export side that will go live Jan 203.

Sigal said, we lead the industry in innovation and now we want to lead the industry in sustainability. Innovation and sustainability go hand in hand.
