The trade union ver.di has called on Lufthansa ground staff, including those at Lufthansa Cargo, to take part in a warning strike. It is scheduled to begin at 04:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning, 07 February, and to end at 07:10 a.m. on Thursday morning, 08 February. All German locations are affected, including the Frankfurt and Munich hubs.

Due to the strike, the majority of Lufthansa’s passenger flights and a significant number of freighter flights will be affected on Wednesday.

Due to the special circumstances, we would also like to inform you about two further restrictions:

At the Frankfurt hub, no road feeder services will be able to operate inbound and outbound during the entire strike period. Inbound FRA, this will apply to arrivals of our road feeder services up to and including Thursday, 08 February, 2 p.m. (Frankfurt local time).

At the Munich hub, an embargo on animals (AVI) applies, while the embargo in Frankfurt is limited exclusively to ornamental fish (AVP).

We will make every effort to offer you a suitable alternative connection for your freight.

We would like to expressly ask you to proactively inform yourself via our eTracking service about the current status of your shipment on the respective booked flight.

With regard to the affected shipments and contracts, we would like to point out that these are exceptional events, about which you will be duly informed again with this communication.

We are constantly monitoring and discussing the dynamic situation with our system partners with the aim of continuing to offer you stable solutions for the transportation of your freight.

We regret the necessary adjustments and the inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding and co-operation during this strike.
