Israel-Hamas war: Operational update as of 17th of October 2023

On Saturday 7 October, Hamas a terrorist organization based in the Gaza Strip, launched an unexpected offensive on Israel. At DSV, we are monitoring the situation closely. As of Sunday 8th October, all DSV employees in Israel are reported safe, and we continue to be fully operational in the country. Operational information As the situation in Israel continues to evolve, we are monitoring the implications for our operations closely. Special awareness should be paid to operations in the entire region, as it is still uncertain how the situation will unfold in the surrounding countries.

Air Freight TLV Airport is operating.
As of today, the only airlines operating to full capacity are Israeli carriers El Al Israel Airlines, Arkia Israeli Airlines. Israir & Challenge Airlines The capacity on the freighters are immitted as the priority is given to Defense and Pharmaceuticals ,our airfreight management are working on finding solutions and we will keep you posted Most of the international airline's temporary cancelled the flights with some exceptions, we are monitoring the situation and will keep you updated for any change based on the info we will get form the airlines.

The warehouses at the TLV airport are operational and fully staffed, we might face some delays due to lack of staff.
Ocean Freight All Shipping lines are calling Israeli ports. MD3 service YML/ONE/HMM vessels will call Haifa ports only until further notice LCL – Due to some restrictions announced by the ocean ports Ashdod & Haifa about Dangerous goods – it will not be possible to combine Dangerous goods with general cargo on LCL Dangerous goods will be handled on FCL or shipping by Air – kindly communicate with our customer service team for solutions Some Shipping lines are rejecting booking for Dangerous goods into Israel ZIM , Grimaldi – implemented war surcharge
Israeli Ocean ports All Israeli ports are fully operating. but they are facing delays in offloading/loading the containers due to lack of staff. Some vessels are calling Haifa port instead of Ashdod.
There is a special process of handling DGR containers at the ports (clearance on direct clearance process) in Ashdod & Haifa ports Ocean ports announced list of Dangerous goods that require special process prior to arrival to the port
External ocean terminals are fully operating. but they are facing delays in offloading/Loading the containers due to lack of staff.
Domestic transportation is fully operating but we are facing lack of drivers which are causing delays in pickups & deliveries.
Border crossing
Cargo operations at Allenby/King Hussein/al-Karama Bridge crossing is partly working between 08:00 – 16:30, for the transfer of: 1. Cement in bulk. 2. Iron waste / scrap iron– import and export 3. Sand
Cargo operations at Jordan River/Sheikh Hussein Border Crossing: the cargo terminal will be open, subject to availability of workers, between 08:30 to 17:00 for sensitive goods (olives. fresh fruits and vegetables) as well as dangerous goods
Freight forwarders offering land bridge services between Israel and Jordan to US/Europe have been impacted because the border crossing has been closed. Nitzana Border Crossing – between Israel and Egypt is closed. Yitzhak Rabin/Arava Crossing – between Israel and Jordan near Eilat is working.
